A ceremony marking the 130th anniversary of the founding of Hrvatska elektroprivreda (HEP) and the power generation of the Korlat Photovoltaic (PV) Project was held on Feb 24 in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia.
The 50-megawatt photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Shinyanga City, Tanzania, was recently fully connected to the grid. Constructed by Power Construction Corporation of China, it is Tanzania’s first PV power plant. It can add diversity to the country’s power structure and promote the development of the local clean energy industry.
On February 5, the transmission lines of the China-Laos 500-kilovolt power interconnection project were fully connected. The project comprises two sections, in Laos and China, which were undertaken respectively by Electricite du Laos Transmission Company Limited and China Southern Power Grid Co., Ltd. The 177.5-kilometer transmission lines run from Oudomxay Province in Laos to Yunnan Province in Southwest China. It is scheduled to be officially operational in April.
The first freight train on the Budapest-Belgrade Railway departed from the Ferencvaros Station in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, marking the beginning of freight transport along the rail’s Hungarian section.
