Typhoon Bavi moved northwards to multiple Chinese provinces, including Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Liaoning, and brought there heavy rainstorms.
China Datang Corporation Limited swiftly activated an emergency response to the expected strong winds and flooding, ensuring a safe and stable energy supply to the typhoon-stricken areas.
Zhejiang was battered by the fierce winds and heavy rains on July 11 and 12, and faced a great challenge to its energy supply. The local branch of China Datang issued a Level-Ⅰ warning against the typhoon, undertook various protective measures against the wind, rainstorm and floods, and conducted a special inspection of vital equipment to ensure a stable power supply. Its subsidiaries made every effort to evacuate residents, while adopting diverse measures, such as preparing and distributing emergency materials to assure safety.

Some areas of Liaoning were lashed by heavy rains. China Datang’s local branch cumulatively dispatched 767 staff members for repair and maintenance work and equipped them with 95 vehicles and 15 satellite phones in order to ensure electric devices operate stably. Its subsidiaries engaged in drills to improve anti-flood measures and collaborated with the local government by sharing information and collectively dealing with pressing issues. Its local new energy unit halted all offshore activities and organized a youth team to inspect its 1,076 turbines in a real-time and around-the-clock manner.
In Jiangsu, China Datang’s local branch worked with the local government’s emergency response department to set up 45 anti-flood teams and equip them with necessary supplies and equipment. These teams completed the inspection and remediation of 91 potential typhoon and flood hazards. A total of 3,667 workers were evacuated to safety from ports and infrastructure construction sites in the cities of Nantong and Nanjing.
