Nam Kwong (Group) Company Limited unveiled a series of scientific and technological achievements on May 31, showcasing the progress it has made under its “Digital and Smart Nam Kwong” initiative since the launch of the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25).
These results highlight how the company is leveraging digital technologies to improve public well-being in Macao, enhance urban governance, and advance coordinated development across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The achievements cover the digitalization of public services, smart urban security, and an independently developed cloud computing data center. Nam Kwong has built a number of technology industrialization platforms, including the Macao Smart Life Service Platform, the Macao BeiDou Spatiotemporal Service Platform and the Guangdong-Macao Cross-Border Data Service Platform, to comprehensively support Macao’s digital city development and the integrated development of Macao and South China’s Guangdong Province.
The company has launched key research projects focusing on urban applications of the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System, smart public transport and intelligent logistics. It is also deepening industry–academia–research collaboration to accelerate the translation of scientific and technological achievements into practical applications, continuously improving urban governance efficiency, optimizing public services, and spurring cross-border industrial vitality, thereby injecting technological momentum into Macao’s appropriately diversified economic development.
As the only central SOE headquartered in Macao, Nam Kwong fully supports the Macao SAR government. Anchoring its course on digitalization, intelligentization and automation technologies, the group continues to increase investment in scientific and technological innovation. Also, it is deepening its presence in areas such as public services, urban governance, cross-border data, smart transportation, and smart energy.
