The inaugural ceremony for a new direct container route from Dalian, Northeast China’s Liaoning Province, to the Middle East was held at the Dalian Container Terminal of Liaoning Port Group Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Merchants Group.
This marks the opening of a direct maritime freight corridor linking Northeast China with the Middle East. It can also effectively enhance the direct shipping capacity from Northeast China to South Asia.

The route provides direct access to major ports in India and Pakistan, as well as in Middle Eastern countries, such as the United Arab Emirates and Oman, saving at least 10 days compared with conventional transshipment routes. Through this, the comprehensive logistics costs of international trade can be significantly reduced.
The route can serve as a more convenient and efficient channel for the export of key products in Northeast China’s hinterland, such as grain, chemicals, electromechanical equipment and automobile parts. It can advance the trade between the region and the Middle East and South Asia, facilitating the development of the region’s export-oriented economy.
