A comprehensive transportation transfer center in the vicinity of the Xinqiao International Airport in Hefei, the capital of East China’s Anhui Province, has passed the final inspection and has been approved.
The transfer center was built by China Construction Third Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China State Construction Engineering Corporation. It is Anhui’s first large-scale, comprehensive transport hub that connects to air, ground, and rail transit. Once operational, it can serve the airport’s 40 million passengers annually.

Covering about 330,600 square meters, the establishment has a larger underground part and deeper foundation pit than any other existing single public building in the province — the pit depth is equal to the height of a building with 12 stories.
The three-floor, double-ring structure of the transfer center can streamline traffic, enhancing transport efficiency in rush hours.

The interior artistic design seeks to create changing views at every turn. Inspired by traditional Anhui construction styles, the transfer center is also laced with lawn and ponds.

During the construction, builders employed artificial intelligence and robots, as well as smart security systems, to ensure construction safety.
