Key Section of Chongqing-Changsha High-Speed Railway Makes Progress

The Qingshuiping Wujiang River Grand Bridge in Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality has made key progress.

A key section of the Chongqing-Changsha high-speed railway, the bridge is 804.6 meters long with a main span of 240 meters. It is the first double Y-shaped single-arch ballastless track high-speed railway bridge in China.

Construction of the bridge started in 2020 and has been 90 percent completed.

The Chongqing-Changsha high-speed railway is a part of the country's "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" railway network.

Once operational, the railway will be the first of its kind in the mountainous city cluster in the Wuling area of Chongqing and is expected to shorten travel time between Qianjiang and downtown Chongqing to one hour.
