The CEPC platform of the Chengbei Oilfield in Qinghuangdao, North China's Hebei Province, has been put into operation.
It is a green pioneering model of joint construction for oil and gas production and shore power supply as well as a model for high-quality development of offshore oil and natural gas in China.
High-voltage transmission equipment and the oil and gas processing platform are co-built on the central platform, which effectively integrates the shore power directly into the traditional central processing platform. Its construction model is also the first attempt of its kind in Asia.
Located in Southwest Bohai Sea, the Chengbei Oilfield is China’s first offshore oilfield to be jointly developed by domestic and international companies. It is also the first modern oilfield to be built in accordance with the international standards in China.
It started operation in 1985 and has produced more than 13 million metric tons of crude oil.
The newly-operated CEPC platform is the third center platform built in the oilfield.
It has a height equaling a residential building with more than 10 stories and is weighed nearly 15,000 tons. It is the core equipment of the Caofeidian 21-3 oilfield development project.
China National Offshore Oil Corporation is responsible for construction and operation of the platform.
