Changan Automobile unveiled SDA Pilot, China’s first intelligent driver assistance solution independently developed by a central state-owned enterprise, on September 4 at the 6th Changan Tech Ecosystem Conference in Chongqing.
Changan SDA Pilot comes in four tiers: Pro, Max, Ultra and Ultimate. Each version is equipped with LiDAR and adopts a one-stage, end-to-end large model trained on over 20 million segments of high-quality data.
Equipped with multi-redundancy and prediction capabilities, it can identify potential hazards earlier under complicated conditions, such as low light, backlight, rain and fog. It is powered by a multimodal large model that integrates vision and voice technologies, and it enables interactive navigation, supports voice commands and memorizes driving behavior.
Before launching the product, Changan Automobile conducted extensive tests across 45 cities in China to verify its navigation and interaction capabilities in complex urban and traffic scenarios. The corporation plans to continuously iterate it.
So far, the corporation has invested more than 60 billion yuan ($8.94 billion) in the intelligent sector, 22.5 billion yuan of which went to developing intelligent products. Its intelligent technology team has over 7,500 members. The company runs China’s only national key laboratory of intelligent vehicle safety technology as well as an intelligent experiment center called Changan SDA Lab.
