The 220-kilovolt section of the grid connection facilities of the Navoi Integrated Energy 300-Megawatt Photovoltaic Power Plant in Uzbekistan achieved reverse power transmission on its first attempt on August 14.

The power plant is Uzbekistan’s first large-scale integrated benchmark project for new energy development and is the first new energy project in Central Asia that deploys fully automatic robots to install PV modules.
By leveraging rich resources in the Navoi Region, the power plant can coordinate PV power generation with energy storage. It forms a new integrated energy system capable of PV power generation, energy storage, peak shaving and diversified energy supply, filling the country’s gap in large-scale, simultaneous application of PV power generation and energy storage.
Upon completion, the power plant is expected to annually deliver approximately 700 million kilowatt-hours of clean electricity to the local grid and cut carbon dioxide emissions by about 600,000 metric tons on average per year, significantly bolstering the green and low-carbon transformation of Uzbekistan’s energy structure.
