CSG’s Fixed-Asset Investment Hits 89.26 Billion Yuan in H1

Updated: August 03, 2026

China Southern Power Grid Co., Ltd. (CSG) recorded a total of 89.26 billion yuan ($13.19 billion) in fixed-asset investment in the first six months of 2026, representing a year-on-year growth of 14.79 percent.

The investment volume hit a record high for the same period and accounted for 49.59 percent of the enterprise’s annual investment target of 180 billion yuan ($26.6 billion). The corporation poured nearly 50.81 billion yuan ($7.51 billion) into investment in the second quarter, as investment momentum picked up from the first quarter.

Major projects serve as a key vehicle to expand effective investment. With an eye on its annual goals, CSG has stepped up efforts to advance its major construction projects to continuously strengthen the supporting role of power grids.

In the first half of the year, 2,400 power transmission and transformation infrastructure projects were built as planned, attracting a cumulative fixed-asset investment of over 68.94 billion yuan ($10.19 billion), a 17.9 percent year-on-year rise.

The multiplier effect of power grid investment continued to arise, with remarkable results in coordinated development of the whole industrial chain. CSG quickened its tendering and procurement pace in the first six months of 2026, with its procurement volume reaching 126.7 billion yuan ($18.72 billion). Notably, material supplies for the corporation’s projects worth 36.6 billion yuan ($5.41 billion) were delivered in the second quarter, rising 19.2 percent year-on-year. A total of 32.9 billion yuan ($4.86 billion) in payable material payments was settled in full, an increase of 11 percent from the same period of last year, effectively stimulating the vitality of market entities.

Meanwhile, CSG has leveraged efficient investment to boost the coordinated development of upstream and downstream sectors including electrical equipment manufacturing, thereby maximizing the economic, industrial and social benefits.

CSG’s investment volume is expected to reach 1 trillion yuan ($147.77 billion) during the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30) period, which is estimated to attract 2 trillion yuan of investment across upstream and downstream industrial chains.

Going forward, CSG will seize the golden construction opportunity to develop major construction projects, upgrade industrial chains and promote the green transformation of the energy sector in a well-coordinated manner. The corporation will strive to fully complete its annual investment goal and offer stronger power security for high-quality regional development.
