Cheng Fubo Meets with Vimal Kapur, Chairman and CEO of Honeywell Technology

Cheng Fubo, Chairman of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), met with Vimal Kapur, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Honeywell Technology, in Beijing on July 29. 

The two sides exchanged views on deepening cooperation between China’s central state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and Honeywell Technology in technological innovation, smart manufacturing, green development, etc.

Cheng extended a warm welcome to Kapur and his team. He noted that Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump agreed on a new vision of building a constructive China-US relationship of strategic stability in May, which offers important strategic guidance for the future development of bilateral ties. 

Cheng emphasized that China’s central SOEs will fully implement the guiding principles of the important remarks made by President Xi as well as the outline of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30) for national economic and social development, so as to advance high-quality development. He stated that Honeywell Technology’s development philosophy of focusing on its core businesses and empowering manufacturing with artificial intelligence aligns with the industry-oriented principle of China’s central SOEs, creating broad prospects for cooperation.

Cheng expressed hope that both sides will consolidate and build on existing cooperation outcomes and leverage their respective strengths to pursue more valuable collaboration in scientific and technological innovation and corporate management. He also hoped that the two sides can jointly explore third-party markets and achieve mutually beneficial, win-win development.

Kapur briefed the Chinese side on Honeywell Technology’s corporate transformation and business structure. He spoke highly of the progress and experience of China’s central SOEs in scientific and technological innovation, green and low-carbon transition and international operations. 

Kapur stated that remaining firmly optimistic about the Chinese market, Honeywell Technology will continue to strengthen its presence in the country. He said that the company will steadily scale up localized innovation and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with China’s central SOEs in smart manufacturing and overseas development, so as to better drive the sustainable development and upgrading of relevant industries.
