During the 48th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee held in Busan, South Korea, on July 25, China’s nomination Jingdezhen Handicraft Porcelain Industry Sites successfully passed the review and was inscribed on the World Heritage List. With this addition, China now has 61 World Heritage sites on the list.

A project team of experts from multiple professional institutes under China Architecture Design & Research Group (CADG), a subsidiary of China Construction Technology Consulting Co., Ltd. (CCTC), undertook the core tasks for the nomination under the guidance of the National Cultural Heritage Administration. These tasks included formulating an overall plan for interpreting and exhibiting the heritage sites, conducting renovation and exhibition for landmark heritage components, compiling exhibition outlines, developing cultural relic protection plans, and providing technical support for protection and management work.
The team proactively promoted the holistic presentation, systematic interpretation and public accessibility of the heritage sites, and successfully completed the core content of the nomination project with high standards, which passed the international professional evaluation. This outstanding support contributed significantly to Jingdezhen’s successful inscription on the World Heritage List and the global dissemination of China’s porcelain artistry.
The inscription of Jingdezhen on the World Heritage List represents an in-depth international interpretation of China’s time-honored porcelain-making traditions and ceramic art. It also stands as another remarkable achievement of CCTC in its consistent dedication to heritage protection and cultural inheritance, demonstrating the sense of responsibility and commitment of this central state-owned enterprise to upholding traditions and striving for excellence.
CCTC takes it as its mission to promote fine traditional Chinese culture and enhance the international recognition and influence of Chinese civilization. It will continue to serve China’s major cultural projects and explore more technical approaches for cultural heritage research, protection, interpretation, exhibition and public engagement, so as to firmly safeguard the roots and soul of Chinese civilization. In this way, it will contribute its strength to promoting exchanges, mutual learning and common development between Chinese civilization and other outstanding civilizations.
