This is another crucial new energy project under the China-Kazakhstan cooperation framework, following the Sauran solar power storage project, which contains a 300 MW solar power plant with a 90 MW/360 MWh energy storage system.

The new project in Karaganda, with a total investment of about $573 million, covers an area of about 8,000 hectares. It will have 500 MW of installed capacity and be equipped with a 150MW/300MWh power storage system.

Upon completion, it will be able to generate more than 1.7 billion kilowatt-hours of clean electricity, improving the local energy mix, ensuring Kazakhstan’s energy security and helping the country to achieve carbon neutrality.

Energy China, one of the world’s largest enterprises in energy, power and water infrastructure construction, has attached great attention to the Kazakhstan market. The total value of its projects in Kazakhstan is over $8 billion.

Energy China will leverage its advantages to ensure the timely, high-quality completion of the wind power project. In the future, it will continue to deepen mutual trust and seek more cooperation with its partners in Kazakhstan and pool more investment into the country, in order to build more landmark projects under the Belt and Road Initiative.
