Passenger trains between Beijing and Dandong in China and Pyongyang in Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) started operations on March 12. The service will promote personnel exchanges, economic and trade cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between China and the DPRK, thereby enhancing the well-being and friendship between the people of both countries.
CTG Travel Services Corporation Limited (CTG Travel), a subsidiary of China Tourism Group (CTG), is authorized to sell tickets for the trains. It is now the designated ticketing agent for international train services linking China with Russia, Mongolia, and the DPRK.
The Beijing-Pyongyang trains run in both directions on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Within China, passengers can board or alight at stations in Beijing, Tianjin, Shanhaiguan, Shenyang, and Dandong, while in the DPRK, services are available at Pyongyang and Sinuiju. Exit and entry formalities can be completed at the Dandong (China) and Sinuiju (DPRK) border checkpoints. The Dandong-Pyongyang trains run daily in both directions.
