[New Year, New Start] Dongfeng Motor Export Rises by Nearly 63% in January and February

Data shows that Dongfeng Motor Corporation Limited (Dongfeng Motor) sold 296,000 vehicles in January and February, 6.3 percent higher than the same period last year. 

The company exported 53,000 vehicles in the first two months of 2026, 62.8 percent higher than the same period last year. Of these, 26,000 were new energy vehicles (NEVs), marking a 106.8-percent increase year-on-year. 

Sales of NEVs booming

Sales of Mengshi, the company’s luxury electric off-road vehicle brand, hit 1,033 in February and its total sales in the first two months were ten times that of the same period last year. 

The company delivered 18,873 Lantu cars to customers in January and February, 18 percent higher than the same period last year. The Lantu brand listed on the Hong Kong Stock Market on March 19, which is expected to further enhance its influence and sales, ushering in a new development phase for central State-owned enterprises’ smart and high-end NEVs. 

Yipai, another brand of the company, maintained good sales in February. Its total sales in the first two months reached 36,205, a 37-percent increase over the same period last year. The prototype vehicle of Yijing, a new Yipai product, is scheduled to debut at the Beijing Auto Show in April.

Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor Co., Ltd. sold 18,655 cars in January and February, rising by 45 percent year-on-year.

Joint venture brands making steady progress

Sales of the Dongfeng Honda reached 17,583 in February, a 10.1-percent increase year-on-year. Its January and February sales saw year-on-year increases, and the sales of its featured product, CR-V, surpassed 10,000 units in February, marking a 13.2-percent increase from the same period last year. This shows the strong competitiveness and enormous popularity of Dongfeng Honda in its segment. 

Dongfeng Nissan accelerated its product release into the market, simultaneously unveiling four new vehicle types. 

The operation scale of Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile Co., Ltd. in January and February increased by 19 percent from the same period last year. 

Stepping up efforts to go global

Dongfeng Motor actively participated in Belt and Road cooperation, with its various brands, such as Lantu and Mengshi, becoming increasingly popular in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Europe and South America. The global sales network has been improved, with the export strategy shifting from products to brands.
