[New Year, New Start] CSAL’s International Cargo and Mail Throughput in Guangzhou Surpasses 14,000 tons during Spring Festival

Updated: March 18, 2026

During this Spring Festival holiday, China Southern Air Logistics (CSAL), a subsidiary of China Southern Air Holding Company Ltd., transported over 14,000 tons of international cargo and post to and from Guangzhou, capital of South China’s Guangdong Province. The cargo and post export volume is 12 percent higher year on year and the import volume is 13 percent higher. Notably, the cross-border e-commerce cargo export volume has hit a single-day record high, injecting strong impetus into Guangdong’s foreign trade in the new year.

CSAL held its position during the holiday to facilitate air transport in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It made comprehensive, customized plans to ensure quality products were smoothly sent to and from Guangdong. To ease the pressure of the peak logistics time, CSAL set up a special 24-hour group to overcome challenges. It opened more channels to the warehouses and optimized the work schedule, reducing the cargo owners’ line-up time. It launched more flights on the main freight routes to Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the United States to better leverage Guangzhou’s role as an air transport hub.

CSAL established new security check channels at the Guangzhou International Cargo Terminal to meet the surging demand in cross-border e-commerce exports. Through the pre-positioned civil aviation security check and customs inspection, it can complete these procedures more quickly, thereby shortening the time needed for customs clearance and ground operations. By monitoring the amount of cargo in real time with the help of a smart system, CSAL can resiliently allocate resources and optimize workflow to avoid overstock. All these measures facilitated commodities produced in Guangdong, such as clothing, furniture and electronic products, to enter the global market.

CSAL also prioritized the import of household necessities. It created fast-track channels for maternity and baby products and fresh food, and offered dedicated services including end-to-end temperature-controlled transport and priority customs clearance and pickup, enhancing the delivery efficiency of imported goods. It established a special supply chain to control the full transport process from loading overseas to pickup and delivery in Guangzhou, thus ensuring the high-quality overseas products arrive safely at the markets in Guangzhou and other parts of the Greater Bay Area.
