The smart ultra-fast electrical charging station integrating photovoltaic power generation and energy storage at Tonglu Service Area (northern area) was officially put into use. The service area, located in East China’s Zhejiang Province and along the Changchun-Shenzhen Expressway, now has two such stations operational on its north and south sides, becoming China’s largest expressway composite for ultra-fast charging services.

The two ultra-fast charging stations can meet the needs of more than 6,000 new energy vehicles (NEVs) daily.
The station in the northern area covers 30,000 square meters and offers 108 standard, indoor lots for charging and parking. It has 38 liquid-cooled ultra-fast charging pillars, each capable of functioning with up to 600 kilowatts, which means the station can deliver within one second enough power for the NEVs to travel 1 kilometer. The station in the southern area, operational in August 2025, also houses 108 lots. The two stations both employ advanced technologies, such as photovoltaic power generation, hierarchical energy storage and liquid-cooled ultra-fast charging. The total installed capacity adds up to 3,096 kilowatts and the stations can reduce nearly 3,000 tons of carbon emissions annually with the energy storage system.
