As of January 18, Yangpu Port, an international transport hub, has accommodated 278 vessels and handled 351,000 twenty-foot equivalent units, accounting for over 70 percent of the island’s total import volume. The port also saw weekly freight shipment to and from the Philippines and East Malaysia, facilitating the movement of goods from Hainan, through Southeast Asia, to global destinations.

Yangpu Port fully leverages favorable policies, such as tariff exemptions for processed goods and raw materials export, to bolster foreign trade in commodities like grains, rubber and coffee beans. In the first month following the launch of Hainan FTP’s island-wide independent customs operations, the port’s import-export cargo volume has risen 168.7 percent year-on-year.
