FJMG Delivers China’s Largest Bus Export Order

Updated: January 28, 2026

At the production base of Higer Bus Company Limited, a subsidiary of Fujian Motor Industry Group Co., Ltd. (FJMG) in Suzhou, East China’s Jiangsu Province, a massive fleet of high-end buses have lined up in neat formations, ready for delivery to Algeria. The order is valued at over 1.5 billion yuan ($215.39 million), setting a new record as the largest single bus export order in Chinese history.

This large shipment of 3,000 buses, including the new V-series buses in 8-meter and 11-meter lengths, as well as 12-meter monobody buses, will become a key part of Algeria’s “10,000-bus fleet renewal plan” that is aimed at modernizing and improving the efficiency of the country’s public transportation system.

Higer Bus has been very active in the Algerian market for 21 years since its debut in 2005. It has achieved milestones in this North African country, from exporting products through establishing local knocked-down factories to holding the largest market share.

High temperatures, sandy roads and complex terrains are some of the major driving challenges in Algeria, but these are not issues for Higer Bus products. Coming after three years of R&D on their electronic stability control system and other supporting functions, the new V-series of buses are expected to safely operate.

The vehicle producer mobilizes technical teams for after-sales service in major operation areas, typifying Chinese manufacturers’ commitment to offering comprehensive services.

“After strict examination, the new V-series buses perform well both in long-distance transport across the Sahara region and urban public transport. This model of buses will certainly enhance our service effectiveness and quality,” said a representative of the Algerian buyers.

Chinese manufacturers are ready to contribute their unique wisdom and expertise to improving the infrastructure and livelihoods of the countries participating in Belt and Road cooperation.
