On June 1, 2024, the Pearl River Delta Water Resources Allocation Project officially started the water supply. GuangdongGDH Pearl River Delta Water Supply Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Guangdong Holdings Limited, has always adhered to the principle of “customer first.” Focusing on the water supply demands, it makes the best use of smart tools such as the digital twin project, the supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system, and the intelligent inspection system. Through tens of thousands of intelligent sensors deployed along the entire water supply line, it conducts real-time monitoring of key indicators such as water level, flow rate, pressure and water quality, providing a strong guarantee for the stable operation of the project.

GuangdongGDH Pearl River Delta Water Supply Co., Ltd. has actively carried out scientific research and innovation, and formulated the Operation Guidelines for the Main Pumps of the Pearl River Delta Water Resources Allocation Project. It promoted the operation and dispatching system, which was put into operation in November 2025, realizing the functions of automatic startup and shutdown as well as stable operation maintenance of the SCADA system, which further improves the stability and efficiency of the operation of the Pearl River Delta Water Resources Allocation Project.

In addition, to safeguard water supply safety, GuangdongGDH Pearl River Delta Water Supply Co., Ltd. has established manual and online water quality monitoring systems, conducting high-standard monitoring at 29 sections. The monitoring results are linked to the water dispatching system, ensuring that the monthly average quality of the water supply stably meets the high-quality Class Ⅱ water standard. Proactively, it has expanded the scope of pollution source surveys to 50 kilometers upstream of the water intake, and established a mechanism for water quality information sharing and emergency response with Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan and Dongguan. It has also issued seven water quality management systems, including the Measures for Water Quality Management of Pearl River Delta Water Supply, providing strict institutional guarantees for the residents of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to have access to safe drinking water.
