On April 16, the world’s first boring machine capable of excavating kilometer-deep hard rock shafts, dubbed “Gangtie Jiliang”, rolled off the production line.
Developed by China Railway Construction Corporation Limited, it is a milestone achievement of the national key R&D project and has filled the international gap in boring machine capable of excavating kilometer-deep hard rock shafts, realizing a technological leap in ultra-deep vertical shaft boring equipment. This equipment provides safer and more efficient basic equipment for deep mineral resource development and underground space utilization, making China one of the world's leading players in this field.
