On November 5, the commissioning and flag-presenting ceremony of CNS Fujian, China’s first aircraft carrier equipped with electromagnetic catapults, was held at a naval port in Sanya, South China’s Hainan Province. As China’s first domestically designed and built electromagnetic catapult aircraft carrier, and the country’s third overall, it was developed by China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited and has hull number 18. CNS Fujian was launched and named in June 2022, with its electromagnetic catapult technology ranking among the world’s best.
