Deepening reform for high-quality development
During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, Xinxing Cathay International Group has focused on building itself into a world-class enterprise. It advanced high-quality SOE reform, achieved key breakthroughs in institutional and mechanism innovation as well as market-oriented operation, and laid a solid foundation for its strategic transformation from a production-focused to a technology and innovation-driven model, and from decentralized management to intensive development.
Xinxing Cathay International Group has established national-level innovation platforms. The group has cultivated an expert team led by academicians and a fully professional innovation team of over 500 members, providing strong support for scientific and technological achievements.
Greater innovation capabilities
Xinxing Cathay International Group has achieved a series of major breakthroughs in key core technologies. On March 17, 2023, Huangshi Xinxing Pipes Co., Ltd. successfully cast the world’s first DN3000mm ductile iron pipe. This pipe is not only the largest of its kind globally but also a pioneering achievement in the industry. The entire production line was equipped with independently developed and manufactured equipment, demonstrating China's attainment of a world-leading level in ductile iron pipe technology.
In June 2024, Xinxing Ductile Iron Pipes Co., Ltd. received the First Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award for the "Technical System for Ensuring Drinking Water Safety". Through material innovation and process optimization, this system has effectively resolved the problem of secondary pollution during water distribution. It has been widely implemented across the country, benefiting hundreds of millions of people.
In new materials research and development, the Nylon 66 project cluster has made significant progress, successfully overcoming key challenges from raw materials to high-end applications. The performance of its masterbatch and fiber products, such as those offering a cooling sensation and UV resistance, has reached internationally advanced levels.
Shouldering more social responsibilities
Xinxing Cathay International Group has independently developed an integrated firefighting equipment system for large oil storage tanks. This system supports the establishment of the Key Laboratory for Firefighting Technology and Equipment for Large Oil Storage Tanks under the Ministry of Emergency Management.
Furthermore, the group has undertaken the ministry's 2024 specialized scientific research project, focusing on the development of smart firefighting equipment for large oil storage tanks.
