The core equipment of the project is a 200-kilowatt wind-powered magnetic eddy-current heating pump unit which uses wind-to-heat conversion technology based on aerodynamics and electromagnetic eddy-current heating to efficiently convert wind energy into thermal energy. It maximizes efficiency by using wind power for electricity or heat, as appropriate.
The technology enhances energy and equipment utilization rates and facilitates the reuse of key components from decommissioned wind turbines. Furthermore, the project include two photovoltaic-thermal modules, which effectively combine photovoltaic and solar thermal functions. These modules convert solar radiation into both electricity and thermal energy, realizing a dual-use of solar power.
By integrating wind-thermal and solar-thermal technologies with the base's existing geothermal system, the demonstration project has created a diverse, stable, and highly efficient green energy supply system where wind, solar, and geothermal energy leverage their complementary strengths.
By re-employing decommissioned wind turbines and photovoltaic modules, this approach not only alleviates the pressure from solid waste generated by the wind and solar power industries, but also reduces the cost of clean heating. It manages to achieve recycling and turn waste into treasure.
