China Launches Shenzhou-22 Spaceship

Updated: November 28, 2025

The Shenzhou-22 spaceship, atop a Long March-2F Y22 carrier rocket, blasted off from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China at 12:11 pm on November 25.

About 10 minutes after the launch, the spaceship separated from the rocket and entered its designated orbit. After entering the orbit, the spaceship will make a fast, autonomous rendezvous and docking with the space station's core module.

The uncrewed spaceship carried space food, medical supplies, fresh fruit and vegetables, equipment to repair a cracked window on Shenzhou-20 and spare parts required for the space station. The China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) led the development of both the Long March-2F Y22 carrier rocket and the Shenzhou-22 spaceship.

It marked the 38th launch mission of China's manned space program, the 610th flight of the Long March carrier rockets, and the first emergency launch mission in China's manned space program.
