Cross-border helicopter services, operated by the Shenzhen General Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection, have recently commenced at the Shenzhen Shekou Cruise Homeport, a subsidiary of China Merchants Group. This marks the official inauguration of the “30-minute efficient travel circle” in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).

This service enables residents to travel between Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Macao in as little as 15 minutes by helicopter. It also signifies the operation of China’s first integrated “sea-plus-air” multimodal port, representing a significant advancement in developing an efficient transportation system across the GBA.
Launched under the unified deployment of the National Immigration Administration, these new cross-border helicopter services mark another milestone in facilitating cross-border mobility and promoting the smooth flow of resources in the region. Once the two routes are fully operational, travel times from Shenzhen Shekou to Hong Kong and Macao will be significantly reduced to within 20 minutes and 15 minutes, respectively.
The launch of these cross-border helicopter routes integrates and innovates port functions, inspection procedures, and management mechanisms, creating a new “dual-purpose” model for port operations and further advancing the integrated development of the GBA.
