Li Zhen, Vice-Chairman of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), attended and adressed the parallel session "Fostering Resilient Global Industrial and Supply Chains through Open Cooperation among Enterprises" of the 8th Hongqiao International Economic Forum in Shanghai on November 6. The session was co-hosted by SASAC and the Ministry of Commerce.
Escipión Oliveira-Gómez, Director of Division of Country Programmes o International Trade Center, attended the Parallel Session and delivered opening remarks, and the Vice Minister of Commerce Sheng Qiuping addressed the event via video.
Li highlighted that the Recommendations of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) for Formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development, deliberated and adopted at the recent fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, include a dedicated chapter on advancing high-level opening-up, underscoring China’s strong commitment to open cooperation and mutual benefit.
He pointed out that as the international industrial division of labor undergoes significant adjustments, consolidating and strengthening cooperation in global industrial and supply chains meets the shared interests and pressing expectations of all parties. SASAC will guide and support central state-owned enterprises in deepening exchanges and cooperation with enterprises across the global as always, collaborating to maintain the stability and smooth flows of global industrial and supply chains.
Nearly 300 guests from home and abroad attended the event. Chinese and foreign entrepreneurs, experts, and scholars exchanged views and shared insights on building a global industrial and supply chain system that is higher in quality, more sustainable and more resilient.
During his stay in Shanghai, Li also attended the opening ceremony of the 8th China International Import Expo, and went to China COSCO SHIPPING Corporation and China Electrical Equipment Group for on-site research.
