Dongfang Electric Corporation (DEC) has recently completed the installation of all wind turbines for its one-gigawatt Burqin Wind Power Project, marking a significant milestone as the project transition into the grid connection phase. This initiative is pivotal in advancing local energy transformation, economic growth, and supporting ecological conservation.

The project boasts a total installed capacity of 1 GW, comprising 85 wind turbines with a capacity of 10 MW each and 18 units with a capacity of 8.35 MW each. Together, they form an integrated clean energy system that combines wind power generation, with energy storage, and transmission. It also pioneers the use of 160-meter truss towers, a major technology breakthrough for wind energy development in areas with low-wind speeds and high wind shear.

Once operational, the project is expected to generate about 2.77 billion kWh of clean electricity annually. This output is equivalent to saving 833,000 metric tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 2.294 million tons.
