During the National Day holiday, the “Tashan” hip-assisted exoskeleton developed by the Hangzhou Zhiyuan Research Institute Co., Ltd in Zhejiang Province, a subsidiary of China North Industries Group Corporation Limited, was deployed to give tourists a leg up at the Jianmen Pass in Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province.

The journey often takes four to five hours because of its precipitous terrain, but the new technology has made it easier.

The Hangzhou Zhiyuan Research Institute Co., Ltd has independently developed the “Tashan” exoskeleton robot, which integrates AI gait prediction and torque adaptive technology. Its multi-joint power-assisted system can capture the walking rhythm, eliminating the discomfort in the legs. It can also stabilize real-time posture through sensors, reducing the risk of slipping.

The exoskeleton’s application has injected new impetus into the tourism and cultural industry. In the past, scenic spots like Jianmen Pass can be daunting for tourists because of the difficulties in climbing. However, the exoskeleton has enabled outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and with different physical conditions to experience the grandeur of the mountains and rivers.

In the future, many scenic spots are expected to be engaged with smart tourism. The Hangzhou Zhiyuan Research Institute Co., Ltd will focus on technological innovation, transform technology into tangible industrial assets, and make more people enjoy innovative results.
