CEAH will Schedule over 3,000 Flights Daily for Holiday Travel Rush

Updated: September 30, 2025

To meet surging passenger demand during the upcoming National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, China Eastern Airlines Holding Co., Ltd. (CEAH), together with its subsidiaries Shanghai Airlines and China United Airlines, will deploy 816 aircraft, including 11 domestically developed C919 jetliners. The airline group plans to operate 3,174 flights daily across 988 routes, connecting 246 cities in 37 countries.

The peak outbound travel rush is expected to fall on October 1, while the return peak will likely occur around October 8. A second wave of travel is also anticipated on October 3 and 4. Following market trends, CEAH will increase flight frequencies at some hub airports and tourist routes.

Domestically, tickets for popular destinations such as Shanghai and Beijing are selling rapidly. With the arrival of beautiful autumn, many domestic autumn-viewing routes to cities like Beijing, Hulunbuir, Hangzhou and Chengdu are highly favored by tourists. Currently, the booking rates for these routes are at a high level.

Internationally, CEAH plans to operate over 440 flights daily, an increase of 10.18 percent year-on-year. The popular overseas routes include Japan, Southeast Asia and the Middle East, and the booking volume for many routes exceeds that of the same period in 2024.
