Located in Kandal Province, about 19 kilometers from downtown Phnom Penh, the airport covers 2,600 hectares and spans both Kandal and Takeo provinces.

Its energy center is equipped with the country’s largest chiller system, offering a cooling capacity of 7,800 kilowatts. More than 1,000 photovoltaic panels were also installed, with an annual power generation capacity of up to 120 million kWh, cutting carbon emissions by around 100,000 tons, making it one of the most environmentally friendly in the world.

The airport is being developed in three phases with a designed annual capacity of 50 million passengers. Once fully completed, it will be classified as a 4F-level international airport, the highest grade in the global civil aviation system.

The opening of Techo International Airport will help ease Cambodia’s airport operation pressures, enhance its air transport capacity, and serve as a powerful driver for attracting international tourists and boosting the country’s economic growth.
