CCTEG Shenyang Engineering Company Goes Global

Updated: September 03, 2025

The CCTEG Shenyang Engineering Company, a subsidiary of the China Coal Technology & Engineering Group (CCTEG), is expanding its international footprint, advancing mining and industrial cooperation in more than 20 countries under the Belt and Road Initiative.

CCTEG Shenyang Engineering Company first entered the international market in 1993 with the Seruwang underground coal mine design project in Indonesia. Over the past three decades, it has grown its business scope to consulting, design, equipment supply, and operations in Asia, Africa and Europe.

Seizing opportunities brought about by the Belt and Road Initiative, CCTEG Shenyang Engineering Company has built a global network centered on Central Asia, Southeast Asia and Northern Eurasia, while diversifying into non-coal resources such as oil shale and quartz sand. It aims to support the global energy transition by applying new technologies and exporting Chinese standards.

Its expertise in open-pit mining has enabled technical breakthroughs. In Pakistan’s Thar coalfield, CCTEG Shenyang Engineering Company solved the slope stability challenge in desert soft rock; at Indonesia’s TCM underground coal mine, Chinese technical standards were applied across the full process for the first time. In 2024, its independently developed world-leading bucket-wheel excavator technology entered the Central Asian market, marking large-scale exports of Chinese mining equipment.

Beyond technology, CCTEG Shenyang Engineering Company emphasizes local engagement and talent cultivation. In Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia, it has conducted training programs and joint operations. In 2017, it won the China-Uzbekistan Friendship Outstanding Contribution Award.

CCTEG Shenyang Engineering Company has also integrated resources to promote industrial and livelihood projects. In Russia, it helped local gold mine owners connect with Chinese investors; in Pakistan, the Thar coal and power project now supplies electricity to four million households; in Kyrgyzstan, new thick coal seams were identified; and in Laos, it worked on ecological restoration of gold mines.

CCTEG Shenyang Engineering Company said it will continue to expand international energy cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, strengthen the export of Chinese standards, technologies and services, and further contribute to global energy development and cross-cultural exchanges.
