Eighty years ago, fearless boatmen of the Chuanjiang River courageously embarked on a perilous journey as part of a grand river navigation plan organized by the China Merchants Group (CMG) and other private Chinese businesses. Their mission was to guide six massive river vessels through the treacherous rapids and shoals of the Chuanjiang River, safely transporting military supplies, factory equipment, and people from Yichang to the rear areas of Sichuan.

Eighty years later, China Yangtze Shipping Group Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Merchants Group, operates the latest generation of high-end Yangtze River cruise ships, the “Yangtze 3”. Featuring a fully rotational rudder and propeller electric propulsion system, along with integrated vibration and noise reduction technology, the ship offers domestic and international tourists a comfortable, smooth, and safe journey between Yichang and Chongqing, enabling travelers to experience the breathtaking beauty of the Three Gorges.
