On August 7, the 12th World Games (TWG) opened in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Dongfang Electric Corporation (DEC) supplied 24 hydrogen-powered buses to provide clean, efficient transport for referees, staff, and media representatives between the TWG Village and various competition venues.

This is DEC’s second time supporting an international sporting event after the 31st Summer Universiade which was held in Chengdu in 2023. The buses feature zero emissions, large capacity, long range, and high safety, making them the backbone of the Games’ green transport network.
Powered by DEC’s self-developed hydrogen fuel cell system, which achieves over 61 percent efficiency and consumes less than 4 kilograms of hydrogen per 100 kilometers, the buses operate quietly and comfortably. Each is equipped with a 20 kg hydrogen storage system, allowing a refuel time of just 10 minutes and a range of over 500 km.
With air suspension for smoother rides, video monitoring, tire pressure and smoke detection, and intelligent safety controls, the buses are made both for comfort and security.
