Located at the heart of Poti Port, the project covers an area of 7.8 hectares and includes container storage areas, a dedicated zone for refrigerated containers, nine rail sidings, a customs inspection station, and supporting facilities such as firefighting infrastructure. As the largest and most advanced intermodal container yard in Georgia, it is designed to handle up to 500,000 TEUs annually — significantly boosting the capacity of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR).

The yard’s operation is expected to directly enhance infrastructure at Poti Port, create hundreds of new jobs, and spur development across logistics, trade, and other related industries. As a key node along the TITR, the project is also poised to significantly increase Georgia’s role as a regional transit hub. Freight volume along the route is projected to rise by 25 percent following the yard’s launch.
