To prepare for the challenges of the upcoming winter, Chilquinta Energía developed a comprehensive Winter Operations Plan for 2025, which includes nearly 970 preventive maintenance tasks. A highlight of the plan is the introduction of the Chinese-made live insulation coating robot — its first use in Latin America.
Chilquinta Energía operates in Chile’s Valparaíso Region, an area with dense vegetation and frequent conflicts between power lines and trees, where medium-voltage lines typically have a low insulation rate. The use of the robot, which offers both safety and cost-efficiency, is expected to significantly enhance the reliability of power supply in the region.
This deployment also reflects the continued efforts of State Grid to promote the global application of Chinese technologies.
