The vessel was ordered by China Merchants Energy Shipping Co., Ltd. and constructed by China Merchants Industry Holdings Co., Ltd., both subsidiaries of China Merchants Group.
This vessel measures 219.9 meters in length, 37.7 meters in beam, 14.9 meters in depth, and has a design draft of 10.2 meters with a cruising speed of 19 knots. Equipped with a comprehensive methanol energy system — including a methanol dual-fuel main engine, auxiliary engines, boiler, and methanol supply unit — it is the first Ro-Ro car carrier globally to use green methanol as its primary energy source.
The ship meets the International Maritime Organization’s TIER-3 emission standards, offering significant advantages in carbon reduction and environmental performance. Its launch marks a major breakthrough for China in the construction of green and intelligent large-scale Ro-Ro vessels, providing a pioneering model for the global low-carbon transformation of the car shipping industry.
The ship will now commence sea trials, with delivery scheduled for the second half of 2025.
