In the first quarter of this year, China Datang Corporation Ltd. (China Datang) recorded a 10.88 percent year-on-year increase in clean energy generation, with wind power generation rising by 11.70 percent, hydropower by 12.3 percent, and photovoltaic (PV) power by 40.54 percent.
In the wind power sector, China Datang launched special initiatives to strengthen equipment performance, conducted systematic inspections and reduced turbine failures. Chifeng New Energy Co., Ltd. optimized turbine operation strategies to handle extreme wind conditions and enhanced equipment management, thereby improving power generation efficiency. At the Ningxia Taiyangshan wind farm, a regular maintenance and control mechanism was established, alongside targeted turbine management and detailed benchmarking, driving further gains in output.
In the PV sector, China Datang deepened quality improvement and efficiency enhancement efforts, strengthened technical management at PV stations, and optimized equipment maintenance practices to maximize generation performance. The Changdatu PV project in Zhejiang Province — the first of its kind to be built on a coastal tidal flat in China — developed maintenance vessels capable of operating without tidal conditions. This innovation increased maintenance work time during non-tidal periods by 70 percent, significantly improving equipment maintenance efficiency. Meanwhile, the Shichengzi 1-gigawatt “solar thermal + PV” integrated clean energy demonstration project in Xinjiang conducted comprehensive inspections of 121,020 PV module strings to ensure optimal tilt angles for maximum generation efficiency, advancing the green and low-carbon transition.
In hydropower, China Datang maintained close communication with meteorological and water management authorities, continuously optimized cascade reservoir joint dispatching plans, and coordinated power station maintenance schedules to maximize the efficient use of water resources. Longtan Hydropower Plant enhanced flood forecasting and collaborated closely on watershed scheduling to maximize integrated benefits. Datang Guanyinyan Hydropower Development Co., Ltd. strengthened efforts in safety production, hazard inspections, and turbine maintenance, while improving coordination with the Changjiang Water Resources Commission and upstream stations to optimize water inflow forecasting, achieving record-high operational performance for the same period in history.
