CCIC Provides High-Quality Testing Services to Support Automotive Industry Development

Updated: March 28, 2025

China Automotive Engineering Research Institute Co., Ltd. (CAERI), a subsidiary of China Certification & Inspection Group (CCIC), completed the world’s first NG-eCall export certification test for Jiangling Group Electric Vehicle Co., Ltd. on March 14.

According to EU Regulation 2024/1180, vehicles exported to the European Union must gradually adopt the NG-eCall system between January 1, 2025 and January 1, 2026. The test utilized LTE-based communication technology, marking China’s alignment with the latest international standards. This successful upgrade from CS-eCall to NG-eCall further demonstrates China’s capabilities in automotive wireless communication technologies.

On March 18, the China Quality Certification Center (CQC), a subsidiary of CCIC, in collaboration with CAERI, awarded the first-ever “Comprehensive Performance Star” certificates for range extenders to SERES and Deepal.

With China’s dual-carbon goals driving innovation in new energy vehicle technology, range extender technology has become a key area of development. In order to meet evolving market demands and technological innovations, CQC and CAERI jointly developed the industry’s first comprehensive evaluation system for range extenders, along with a standardized performance testing and evaluation protocol.

This protocol assesses efficiency coefficients, vibration noise levels and energy density, providing consumers with objective performance comparisons to help them make informed purchasing decisions for extended range electric vehicles.
