The third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China highlighted that enterprises are the main drivers of innovation.

The leading role enterprises play in driving innovation must be emphasized, said Zhao Xiaochen, a member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee and president of China GRINM Group Corporation Limited (GRINM Group). Firstly, enterprises should maximize innovation resources, increase R&D investment and drive industry-academia collaboration to overcome key technological bottlenecks.

Secondly, research centers should be built for common industry technologies, such as green metallurgy, high-purity metal refining and AI-driven new material development, thus accelerating high-end, green and smart industry transformation.

Thirdly, strengthening the application of research results and improving commercialization mechanisms to boost corporate competitiveness, such as piloting incentive reforms and optimizing profit-sharing for patented technologies.

Looking ahead, Zhao said that GRINM Group will prioritize technological innovation and focus on its core functions including securing key technologies, driving industry-wide innovation and supporting sector transformation, striving for breakthroughs in multiple fields.
