This marks the largest LNG storage tank’s dome lifting project ever undertaken by a Chinese company in North Africa.
The 1,004-ton dome was successfully lifted to its designated position after three hours of precise operations. This marks the first time that several patented technologies and advanced construction methods were used in an overseas cryogenic tank project. Among them, 16 patents—including those for large-volume concrete and gas-lifting construction techniques—were applied for the first time. Moreover, advanced construction methods such as fully automated welding and modular prefabrication were introduced to North Africa, greatly improving construction accuracy and efficiency.
Once completed, this project will significantly enhance Algeria’s LNG storage and export capacity, helping the country better address climate change and drive the green, low-carbon development of its energy industry.
