[New Year, New Beginning] HE Accelerates Project Construction in Q1

Updated: February 28, 2025

Harbin Electric Corporation (HE) has been accelerating project construction in the first quarter of 2025.

Coal power project at China Three Gorges’ renewable energy base

HE won the bid for the main equipment of Unit 6 in the coal power project at China Three Gorges’ renewable energy base in the Taklamakan Desert, located in the south of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

This project is a key part of the fourth power transmission channel in Xinjiang to transmit locally-generated electricity to other provincial-level regions of China.

The Unit 6 features ultra-low load stable operation, rapid load adjustment and peak shaving capabilities, marking a significant step forward for China’s coal power sector.

Hubei Ziyunshan 4×350 MW pumped storage units

HE successfully secured the bid for the 4×350 MW pumped storage units for the Ziyunshan Hydropower Station in Hubei. The project is a major part of Hubei’s 14th Five-Year Plan and will help balance energy supply and demand, stabilize the power grid and support the province’s renewable energy goals.

Guanyang 4×300 MW pumped storage units

HE also won the bid for the 4×300 MW pumped storage units in the Guanyang Hydropower Station. The station, with a total installed capacity of 1.2 million kilowatts, is expected to save 613,000 tons of coal annually and absorb 2.3 billion kWh of renewable energy, contributing to a cleaner, more efficient energy system.

Huadian Shantou Phase II 2×1,000 MW coal power project

HE won the bid for the turbine generator units for Phase II of the Huadian Shantou 2×1,000 MW coal power project in Guangdong. This project is a key part of Guangdong’s 2024 construction plan, providing important support for the economic stability of the Shantou region.

Xiguitu 2×660 MW ultra-supercritical reheat project

HE signed a contract for the three main equipment units for the Inner Mongolia Energy Group Baotou Xiguitu Power Generation’s 2×660 MW ultra-supercritical once-through reheat project. Once operational, it will enhance the stability of the Baotou power grid and support the integration of renewable energy.

Unit 2 of the Panjiang Puding 2×660 MW coal power project, developed by HE, successfully completed its 168-hour full-load trial operation and has now entered commercial operation. This is the first ultra-supercritical secondary reheat project in China using smokeless coal, playing a crucial role in the region’s power security and green transformation.

Unit 2 of State Grid Xinyuan Company’s Jinyun Pumped Storage Power Station

The second unit of the State Grid Xinyuan Company’s Jinyun Pumped Storage Power Station, developed by HE, successfully completed a 15-day trial and is now in commercial operation. The project is expected to enhance the power regulation capacity of East China’s grid and promote high-quality regional development.

Unit 2 of Indonesia Dalgan 2×150 MW Biomass Coupled Power Plant

HE’s Unit 2 of the Indonesia Dalgan Biomass Coupled Power Plant successfully connected to the grid. The project is one of the first to be developed under Indonesia’s new policy supporting biomass power generation and is a key strategic initiative for HE.
