China Completes First Digital Yuan Transaction with Singapore

Updated: February 27, 2025

Taiji Computer Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC), has supported China’s cross-border trade settlement using the digital yuan with Singapore for the first time.

The new energy deal marks the further internationalization of China’s currency and the high-level opening-up of the country’s financial sector. By enabling cross-border settlements through corporate digital wallets, the initiative sets a successful precedent for future applications of the digital yuan in global trade.

During the process, the technical team leveraged its expertise to continuously optimize the system architecture, ensuring platform stability in high-concurrency transaction scenarios. Advanced blockchain technology was employed to guarantee data integrity, immutability and traceability, significantly enhancing transaction security. The company also streamlined transaction procedures, reducing the complexity and costs associated with cross-border payments while improving transaction speed. This provides international trade enterprises with a more convenient and efficient payment solution.
