CREC Advances Project Construction in Q1

Since the resumption of work after the Spring Festival holiday, China Railway Engineering Co., Ltd. (CREC) has been accelerating infrastructure construction to secure a good start in the first quarter of 2025.

The China Railway No.10 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. has recently completed and opened the third section of Qingdao-Jinan Railway between Jinan Railway Station and Daminghu Railway Station.

This 1.182-kilometer section is part of the Zhengzhou–Jinan Railway’s Puyang–Jinan segment, further enhancing regional rail connectivity. 

On February 15, track-laying of the initial section from Nanchang East Railway Station–Hejia Village of the Nanchang-Jiujiang High-Speed Railway was completed, integrating Nanchang East Railway Station with the Beijing-Hong Kong and Hangzhou-Nanchang (Hangchang) high-speed railways.

The 138-km Nanchang-Jiujiang High-Speed Railway is designed for speeds of 350 km/h, with this initial section covering 21.177 km. Once operational, trains from Hangzhou to Hong Kong and Shenzhen will bypass Nanchang South Railway Station, improving travel efficiency. 

On February 14, the China Railway No.3 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. successfully installed the first 24-meter T-beam at the Jianzhou track-laying base for the Chengdu-Chongqing Central Line High-Speed Railway project, marking the start of bridge construction.

Meanwhile, construction of the Jiyuan-Xin’an Expressway Yellow River Bridge, the world’s largest span rotating cable suspension bridge, entered a critical phase with the successful lifting of its first steel truss segment. The bridge, located in Henan’s Wangwushan-Daimeishan UNESCO Global Geopark, features a main span of 555 meters and a tower height of 109 meters. The installed section measures 17.9 meters in length, 7.5 meters in height, and 37.4 meters in width, weighing 260 tons. The bridge consists of 34 segments totaling 10,200 tons.

On February 14, the China Railway No.2 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. completed the opening of two sections of the Mile-Yuxi Expressway–Xinshao to Wushan (27 km) and Tonghai North to Duoyishu (21.78 km). The expressway connects to the Guangzhou-Kunming Expressway and is a key part of Yunnan’s southwestern transport corridor, improving regional road connectivity.

On February 13, the China Railway No.5 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. successfully placed a 32-meter T-beam on the Doupengshan Bridge in Guizhou Province, marking significant progress in constructing the new Shanghai-Kunming to Anshun-Liupanshui railway link. A total of 76 beams are required, with 80 percent already completed.
