[New Year, New Beginning] CSCEC Drives Progress With High-Quality Project Delivery

Updated: February 10, 2025

China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) is advancing a series of major projects with determination and efficiency. Since the beginning of the year, numerous key projects have been progressing vigorously, demonstrating CSCEC’s commitment to high-quality project delivery, providing robust support for economic and social development.

Construction of Hualong One reactors progresses in GBA

During the Spring Festival, the batch construction of nuclear power projects in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) progressed at full speed. At several sites, including Taipingling and Lufeng — both projects constructed by China Construction Second Engineering Bureau Ltd., a CSCEC subsidiary — over 3,000 workers remained on the front line to ensure the high-quality construction of the Hualong One nuclear power units.

At the site of Lufeng Nuclear Power Plant, equipment such as a 3-cubic-meter mixer, a 200-ton fly ash silo, and a 12-cubic-meter earth and stone feeding system are helping to produce flowable solidified soil. The project marks the large-scale application of this innovative technology, which transforms waste soil into reusable backfill material through specialized processing, promoting resource recycling.

According to Zhou Qinming, a technician at the Lufeng site, the production line has a daily capacity of 1,000 to 1,200 cubic meters, fully meeting the demands of large-scale continuous deep foundation pours for nuclear construction. This has significantly improved construction quality and efficiency.

China’s “east data, west computing” project enters critical stage

At the construction site of Alibaba Zhangbei Data Center’s Chahar Phase II IJ Building — a flagship project under China’s “east data, west computing” initiative — final testing of diesel generator parallel operation is underway. The project, undertaken by China Construction Fourth Engineering Division Corp., Ltd, is a key component of the national strategy to promote the digital economy in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

The successful testing has verified the diesel generators’ stability and load control capacity.

Guangzhou Nansha Cultural and Sports Complex accelerates construction

Construction continued on the Guangzhou Nansha Cultural and Sports Complex throughout the Spring Festival holiday, with more than 200 workers from China Construction Eighth Engineering Division Corp., Ltd, advancing the project at a breakneck pace. The project now has entered the final stages of decoration.

Located in Guangzhou’s Nansha District, this large-scale urban complex will integrate cultural, tourism and sports functions. The comprehensive stadium will offer 60,000 seats, with a total construction area of approximately 186,000 square meters (including the platform). Once completed, it will serve as a top-tier multi-purpose venue capable of hosting major sports events, performances, and exhibitions.

China-Thailand Railway construction progresses rapidly

At the section 4-3 construction site of the China-Thailand Railway in Ayutthaya, Thailand, construction is in full swing.

The China-Thailand Railway, which connects Bangkok in the south to the China-Laos Railway at the northern border, is a key project of the Belt and Road cooperation.

Once completed, it will not only stimulate economic growth along the route but also link the central line of the Pan-Asian Railway Network, enhancing regional infrastructure connectivity, reducing logistics costs and promoting the movement of people. This project will play a crucial role in advancing regional integration.

As the first standard-gauge high-speed railway in Thailand, the China-Thailand Railway is designed and constructed to Chinese standards. CSCEC builders are committed to accelerating progress, ensuring the timely delivery of this vital transportation link between China and Thailand.
