Collaborative efforts for enhanced travel experiences
During the launch ceremony on January 14, seven youth volunteer teams were commended and they were looked forward to playing a leading role in ensuring smooth and high-quality travel services during the Spring Festival travel rush.
At the Changshawan Service Area on the Shenzhen-Shantou West Expressway, a market, a stage show and interaction experience zones have been set up to showcase local culture and specialty agricultural products to travelers.
Enriching people’s travel experience
Guangdong Provincial Communication Group Co., Ltd has been actively exploring new models of service area development, integrating transportation, agriculture, culture, tourism and commerce. Last year, the group completed the construction of eight themed service areas and renovated 51 service areas to support agricultural development. The Changshawan Service Area is one of these themed areas.
The area featured five themed zones with 22 stalls showcasing a variety of local specialties such as dried shrimp, squid and oyster omelets, providing travelers with a festive atmosphere and an opportunity to purchase unique New Year goods.
Across its service areas, Guangdong Provincial Communication Group Co., Ltd has set up platforms for showcasing agricultural products and promoting local culture. For instance, the Houjie Service Area on the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway opened a “New Year Goods Street”, featuring premium agricultural products from Dongguan, alongside traffic safety awareness campaigns.
Bringing warmth and festive cheer to the journey home
To enhance the Spring Festival travel experience, Guangdong Provincial Communication Group Co., Ltd has designed diverse themed activities and services at various service areas.
At the Changshawan Service Area on the Jieyang-Huilai Expressway, a mesmerizing performance of the traditional “Yingge Dance” (a martial arts-inspired dance with opera and music, which dates back to the Ming Dynasty and is related to the novel Outlaws of the Marsh) was delivered by volunteers.
In addition to the stage, cultural performances such as fisherman’s songs, Chaozhou opera and lion dances, organized by volunteers and the Shanwei’s Bureau of Culture and Tourism, showcased the unique charm of Shanwei.
At the Yayao Service Area on the Foshan-Kaiping Expressway, travelers enjoyed hands-on calligraphy experiences and traffic safety quizzes. At the Huangmaohai Service Area, volunteers offered assistance at the charging stations. Meanwhile, service areas along the Lechang-Guangzhou Expressway and Guangzhou-Zhanjiang Expressway provided amenities such as hot tea, travel assistance and emergency medical supplies.
Guangdong Provincial Communication Group Co., Ltd will continue to provide tailored, localized and differentiated volunteer services, aiming to ensure a safer, smoother and warmer journey home.
