Zhongyu Port Group Develops Sea-Rail Intermodal Transport to Integrate Into the BRI

Updated: January 17, 2025

A freight train carrying 55 containers of auto parts has departed Incheon, South Korea, and destined for Malaszewicze in Poland.

This journey will take it through Qingdao Port in Shandong Province and Putian Station in Zhengzhou, Henan Province.

This milestone marks Zhongyu Port Group’s continued success in sea-rail intermodal transport and transit services, further embedding itself into the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

As a key entity responsible for consolidating goods for the China-Europe Freight Train (Zhengzhou), Zhongyu Port Group’s Yutuo company secured the specialized order for this service.

Sea-rail intermodal transport combines the advantages of sea and rail shipping, offering faster alternative to traditional sea routes and lower costs compared to air freight, helping control logistics expenses. This mode of transport is increasingly becoming the preferred choice for customers, thanks to its efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
