On November 5, 2024, the 2024 “Open-air Cinema - Chinese and Laotian Excellent Film Tour” event, jointly organized by China Southern Power Grid in collaboration with China Central Television and the Laotian Film Bureau, officially commenced.
Outstanding Chinese films such as “I am what I am” with Laotian subtitles were successively screened for public welfare in seven provinces in Laos, including Luang Prabang and Sekong. The screenings attracted thousands of villagers from over a dozen villages, allowing many Laotians who had never seen a major film to experience the charm of Chinese films right at their doorstep.
Using films as a medium, the event aims to promote exchanges between the people from the two countries in a more diverse and enriching manner, deepen mutual understanding and friendship between the two countries, and create a favorable cultural atmosphere for the construction of a China-Laos community with a shared future.
