Updated: December 30, 2024

The highly anticipated Macao Bridge (formerly known as the Fourth Macao-Taipa Bridge) was recently inaugurated with a grand ceremony along the picturesque banks of the Pearl River.

This landmark project, Macao’s first dual eight-lane cross-sea bridge, is now officially open to traffic, further enhancing connectivity between Macao and Taipa.

Baosteel Zhanjiang Iron & Steel Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Baowu Steel Group Corporation Limited (Baowu), played a critical role in this monumental achievement by supplying nearly 20,000 tons of premium steel products.

Baosteel Zhanjiang Iron & Steel’s advanced steel plate products have become a cornerstone in the construction of numerous national and iconic bridge projects in recent years, including the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link, Huangmao Sea Channel Bridge, Oujiang Beikou Bridge and Changtai Yangtze River Bridge. These contributions reflect the company’s commitment to promoting high-quality development in China's transportation network and infrastructure upgrades.

For the Macao Bridge, the company’s production, sales and R&D team worked in close collaboration to deliver tailor-made solutions. From optimizing steel composition and managing production quality to meeting stringent delivery schedules, the team meticulously planned and executed its supply strategy to ensure timely delivery in line with the project’s milestones.

Looking ahead, Baosteel Zhanjiang Iron & Steel remains committed to its high-quality development philosophy, focusing on technological innovation and industrial advancement. The company aims to play a more proactive role in supporting national infrastructure projects and fostering regional economic growth.

In addition to delivering exceptional products and services, the company is actively exploring green, low-carbon and circular economy pathways to contribute to China’s dual carbon goals of peaking carbon emissions and achieving carbon neutrality.
