Beijing New Building Materials Public Limited Company (BNBM), under the leadership of China National Building Material Group Co., Ltd. (CNBM), is fully committed to supporting Macao’s high-quality development.
The Venetian Macao
The Venetian Macao, developed with a $2.4 billion (17.49 billion yuan) investment by a US consortium, was the largest single-structure hotel in Asia and the second-largest building in the world when it opened in 2007.
BNBM’s Dragon Brand was a major supplier during construction, providing a comprehensive suite of materials, including 3.1 million square meters of gypsum board, 4,782 tons of light steel keel and 2,690 tons of insulation rock wool.
The project posed unique challenges, as the materials had to meet British and US standards, with VIP rooms requiring soundproofing up to 54 decibels and two-hour fire resistance. Dragon Brand products met these requirements, achieving 66 decibels for sound insulation and three-hour fire resistance. This landmark project showcased the strength of BNBM, establishing its presence in the Macao market.
Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge
Spanning 55 kilometers across the waters of Lingdingyang, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is the world’s longest cross-sea bridge.
BNBM contributed significantly to construction, participating in key projects such as the Gongbei Tunnel waterproofing, asphalt paving for the islands and tunnel project, and the Macao Border Crossing Facility's parking structures. It supplied approximately 350,000 square meters of waterproof materials, including for the 6.75-kilometer subsea tunnel—the longest and only deep-immersed tunnel of its kind worldwide.
By deploying innovative techniques, including ultra-long directional pipe jacking and meticulous material application, the company ensured the high-quality completion of the project.
Hengqin Line of the Macao Light Rapid Transit
In December, the Hengqin Line of Macao Light Rapid Transit, connecting Lotus Station in Macao to Hengqin Station in Zhuhai, opened for operations.
This marks a new chapter in transportation links between Hengqin and Macao, further integrating Macao into the one-hour living circle of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
As a key livelihood project, the Hengqin Line spans 2.2 kilometers. BNBM played a critical role in overcoming technical challenges during construction, such as complex geological conditions, tight schedules and pipeline relocations. The company provided over 100,000 square meters of innovative waterproof systems to ensure the project’s reliability and adaptability.
Beyond these landmark projects, BNBM has participated in the construction of numerous other projects, including the east line north station of Macao Light Rapid Transit, Macao New Urban Zone Area A, MGM Macao and Galaxy Macao Resort.
BNBM will continue to leverage its expertise and industry resources to support Macao’s development.
